At the heart of the old city of Basel, bonainvest developed the Andlauerhof estate; this is a designated historic monument which was refurbished to a very tight schedule. Because of the high costs involved, the homes could only be sold on an apartment ownership basis. Andlauerhof is located close to the River Rhine, the Market Place, St Peter’s Church and the Les Trois Rois Grand Hotel.

The old city complex is a historic monument. The space concept defined by the architectural practice after the comprehensive refurbishment and modernisation is extremely flexible. In the baroque wing, two good-sized town houses were built on three floors with a gallery and courtyard seating area. The lateral structure is home to large residential units with loggias and terraces and two exceptional penthouse apartments with large roof terraces. The gothic building has been extended to provide loft apartments, some with private courtyard seating and beautiful timber beams.

The Andlauerhof was built in cooperation with the Villa Nova Architekten AG architects’ practice of Basel.
