Two new senior citizens’ centres were built in Egerkingen and Oensingen to replace three existing old people’s homes in the Solothurn district of Gäu. Two centres catering for the needs of the elderly were completed here. Construction work began in November 2009, marking the start of a two-stage construction phase at the Egerkingen site. bonainvest as the overall contractor began by building the senior citizens’ and nursing home with 72 care places and 16 integrated senior apartments for the five local authorities united in the Gäu Cooperative for Age Care and Nursing (GAG). The open overall contracting concept gave the local authorities the benefit of the professional capability of both bonainvest and bonacasa.
After demolishing the old retirement and nursing home, bonainvest as a private investor completed 72 bonacasa apartments in five buildings, all benefiting from the comprehensive range of services provided by the new neighbouring old people’s home. A medical centre and physiotherapy practice were also built in Sunnepark.
The estate was built in cooperation with the Frei Architekten AG architects’ practice of Aarau. The buildings are Minergie certified. Heat for the Sunnepark estate is produced by a central ground water heat pump and gas. In addition, the apartments comply with bonacasa construction standards.
